Limits & fair use
Concurrency, connection and API limits — and the targets that need approval.
#Gateway
| Limit | Default |
|---|---|
| Requests per second | No fixed cap — your plan's concurrency applies |
| Concurrent connections | Set by plan (Unlimited: by threads) |
| Connection idle timeout | 120 seconds |
| Maximum request duration | 10 minutes |
Need more concurrency for a launch or backfill? Ask support — temporary raises are usually same-day.
#Account API
The API allows 600 requests per minute per key. Every response includes your current position:
| Header | Meaning |
|---|---|
X-RateLimit-Limit | Requests allowed per minute |
X-RateLimit-Remaining | Requests left in this window |
X-RateLimit-Reset | When the window resets (Unix seconds) |
#Restricted targets
Some categories of targets — for example government systems and financial institutions — are restricted by default, and requests to them return 403 with X-RiftIP-Error: target_restricted. If you have a legitimate need, contact support and we'll review it.
Heads up
Every request must comply with our Acceptable Use Policy. Accounts that abuse the network are suspended without refund.
