Geo-targeting
Choose the country, region, city or provider your requests exit from.
Location options go in your username, after any network option. The gateway routes each request through the fastest healthy exit that matches all of them.
Shell
curl -x "http://USERNAME-net-residential-country-us-region-texas-city-austin:PASSWORD@gate.riftip.com:7777" https://ip.riftip.com#Options
| Option | Format | Example | Networks |
|---|---|---|---|
country | ISO 3166-1 alpha-2, lowercase | country-de | All |
region | Region or state name | region-california | Residential, Mobile |
city | City name | city-sao_paulo | Residential, Mobile |
asn | Autonomous system number | asn-7922 | Residential |
carrier | Mobile operator | carrier-vodafone | Mobile |
Names are lowercase, with spaces written as underscores. Accents are optional: city-sao_paulo and city-são_paulo are the same city.
#How matching works
- Options narrow the pool from broad to specific: country, then region, then city.
- If no exit matches right now, the request fails fast with
522andX-RiftIP-Error: no_exit_availableinstead of silently exiting elsewhere. - Omit
countryto exit from anywhere in the pool.
Tip
Very small cities can run short of exits at quiet times of day. If you see 522s, widen to the region, or retry a little later.
#Checking where you exited
ip.riftip.com returns the country, city, ASN and network of the exit your request used — useful for asserting targeting in tests.
